8 ways to use Copaiba essential oil:
Copaiba has been a game changer for me and for so many others in doTERRA. It is a powerful oil, distilled from the resin of trees from Brazil. And there are so many great ways to use Copaiba daily! DoTERRA’s is particularly unique as it is a mixture of four different species, giving it an exceptionally beneficial chemistry. It is a great oil for daily use so let’s dive into how to use Copaiba oil.
- Apply 1-2 drops topically to calm muscles and nerves: Copaiba is my go to for when my neck is strained from sleeping funny or stress. I either apply directly or make a diluted 10ml roller bottle with 25-50% essential oil and 50% fractionated coconut oil
- Inhale from the bottle or your hands for calming. Overwhelmed? Try a drop of Copaiba in your hands and inhale deeply for 30 seconds
- Use 1-2 drops under the tongue. Many people have great health benefits from using 1-2 drops under the tongue, 2-3 times a day
- Add to a capsule for daily support or take doTERRA’s Copaiba softgels. Don’t like to taste your oils? Add 1-3 drops of Copaiba to a capsule and take 2-3 times a day. Or use doTERRA’s super convenient soft gels
- Diffuse: Yes you can diffuse Copaiba! Try it alone, with Lavender and Frankincense (2 drops each) or with Lemon and Peppermint (2 drops each)
- Add to toner or directly to face before moisturizing. Mix 1-2 drops Copaiba with your toner after cleansing, apply directly to the face or combine with your daily moisturizer (click here to see doTERRA’s 100% plant based Verage skin care line)
- Add 6-8 drops to a hot, relaxing epsom salt bath. Add 6-8 drops to a hot epsom salt bath to relax and support your body’s natural detox pathways
- Mix 1-2 drops with honey and warm water to make a soothing tea. Mix the Copaiba with honey first and then mix in warm water for a soothing, gentle tea to support your immune system and calm you. This “tea” is great before bed!

What are the effects on the trees from tapping into them so deeply?
Healing in our Homes says
They are rotated and rested so it is not harmful to the trees whatsoever (doTERRA leads the industry in doing this for Frankincense too)
Cheryl says
Does anyone have any information on the effects on neuropathy

I have read that copaiba isn’t safe to invest but that some people do occasionally anyway. I was one of the people that gave it a shot and I felt horrible; burning stomach, achy and inflamed. I know that’s exactly the opposite of what it should do, but I am quite sure it was from the copaiba, since I have never had symptoms like that before, the copaiba was the only new thing I tried, and I felt better soon after discontinuing. My husband said he had pains in his stomach after taking it too.
I’m sure it’s fine for some people, but maybe a word of caution would be good to add.
I am glad to find other info on how to use it though! Thank you!

Sorry, I meant “safe to ingest”, my phone changed it to invest!

I have never heard of having this reaction and we have almost 60,000 people on our team. Was it doterra’s oil? Seems more likely you both reacted to a food or your environment the same vs both reacting to the oil the same. If it was pure. If it wasnt doTERRA and it was synthetic or contaminated then that could definitely be an issue.
Michelle says
I use DoTerra Copaiba daily and ingest, directly appy to skin and never an issue. I have tried from other sources and it says right on their labels not to take internally. This is because it has additives in it, not 100% pure.

I just started copaiba oil 4 days ago. I bought the Young Living Vitality and have a bottle of doTerra on the way. I decided to try copaiba because I was worried the CBD oil I was using may show up positive on a random drug screen.
The first time I put the copaiba on my tongue it was kind of harsh. The next couple days if I ate a little bit then took the oil and it was better. This morning I just tried 2 drops and held it under my tongue for 60 seconds and it was fine. Hoping this can get me off a few meds like the CBD oil did.
I have also rubbed it on a couple of painful areas and it did calm it down for awhile….thanks for the info

How often can we take the DoTerra Copaiba capsules? Just once a day or 2 or 3 times?
