Yes, the brand new doTERRA vegan protein is here! Whether you are like me and can’t tolerate dairy, or you choose to eat a vegan diet, doTERRA has really come through for us.
Protein is an important macronutrient and crucial for building muscle, managing appetite, and helping the body recover after workouts. Reducing sugar consumption is also an important aspect of improving your diet and overall health and many protein powders out there have WAY too much sugar. But doTERRA’s Vegan Protein is sugar-free, is naturally sweetened with monk fruit and stevia, and the macros work with keto or low-carb diets.
dōTERRA Vegan Protein contains 21g of a protein blend of pea, brown rice, pumpkin seed, sacha inchi, and flaxseed. When eating a plant-based diet, it is important to consume protein from a variety of sources to receive a profile of all 20 amino acids. Plus it’s NON-GMO, soy-free, and certified gluten-free!

How does this new Vegan protein compare to other Vegan protein powders on the market? See for yourself …
DoTERRA Vegan Protein vs Arbonne
Arbonne’s Vegan protein shake scores well in every area EXCEPT sugar content. I was very surprised to see it has 7 grams of sugar. For some people that may not seem like a lot but for those of us who avoid sugar completely, it’s significant. It also offers less of a variety of protein sources.
DoTERRA vs Shakeology Vegan Protein
Obviously, there is a huge price difference. As noted on their whey protein , Shakeology does contain superfoods. This comes down to what you want to spend your money on. Their vegan shake is surprisingly *not* non-GMO which is an important distinction and not typical for this product category. The website claims it’s gluten-free but it’s not labeled as such, nor certified, so not safe for celiacs and possibly not for those allergic.
*Shakeology contains 3200mg superfoods. DoTERRA’s Greens contain 9060 mg of superfoods from greens and fruits at $0.95 a serving. So even if you add doTERRA’s greens to their Vegan protein you’ll still save $1.39 per serving or over $41 a month used daily.
DoTERRA vs Plexus Vegan Protein
Obviously, the price difference is substantial between Plexus and doTERRA as well as the net carbs and grams of sugar. For me that is the biggest factor as I always want to limit sugar whenever possible.
DoTERRA vs Herbalife Vegan Protein
Herbalife’s website is so confusing that it took me forever to figure out which product was their dairy-free protein shake. The one shown above is called “Formula Select 1” As you can see it’s very low in protein. It’s marketed right on the label as “high protein” but you’ll need to buy their “protein booster” for another $64.65 (22 servings) to get the total protein to 25 grams. If that is the protein amount you are aiming for then it will actually cost $1.75 + $2.93 = $4.68 a serving!! It does not contain soy in the ingredients list but is made in a factory that may contaminate the product with soy so avoid if you are very sensitive. It is also not non-GMO like most others on the market.
DoTERRA vs Juice Plus Vegan Protein
I was honestly shocked to see the ingredients in the Juice Plus vegan protein. The first ingredient is SOY and the second ingredient is SUGAR. Yikes! This is one to avoid if you want to maintain healthy blood sugar levels and balanced hormones – because both of those ingredients will affect those. We used to use the Juice Plus gummies for our kids years ago but I stopped purchasing because of the high amount of sugar in them. Not being certified gluten-free it is also not safe for celiacs or those highly allergic to gluten.
DoTERRA vs Truvani Vegan Protein
Truvani is low in sugar but also low in fiber. It is grain-free if that’s something you need. I’ve personally tried this one and while the texture is pretty good (which is hard with vegan protein) it’s extremely sweet, much sweeter than doTERRA’s. On this one, it comes down to price and personal preference for the type of protein.
DoTERRA vs. Ancient Nutrition – Ancient Nutrition is similar to Truvani, also grain-free with similar proteins to doTERRA’s. I’ve also tasted this brand and did not care for it at all. It’s also very expensive at $3.33 per serving.
DoTERRA vs Shaklee Vegan Protein
DoTERRA vs. Shaklee – Click here to see this comparison. Shaklee is expensive, sweetened with cane sugar and has 5 carbs per serving.
