Why switch to a Natural Deodorant?
Natural deodorant is chemical-free
In today’s world, we have so many choices available to us when it comes to self-care products. Some are safe and beneficial, and some are toxic and burden the body. There is no exception when it comes to deodorant. The majority of the products on the market are full of chemicals and toxins with risks that override their supposed benefits.
Unless we are aware of the consequences of using the harmful ingredients in conventional deodorant, we probably haven’t thought twice about which product to buy. The goal is to find a deodorant that smells amazing and is going to keep us from smelling terrible, right? Don’t worry, there are natural, safe options that actually WORK!
In order to protect our health, we must educate ourselves on the importance of using a plant-based, natural deodorant.
How does conventional deodorant work?
Conventional deodorant is made with aluminum, a neurotoxin, which claims to keeping the armpits fresh. This is the ingredient you probably hear most about when it comes to the dangers of using conventional products. Interestingly, the purpose of aluminum is to prevent our armpits from sweating.
BUT, it’s a natural process to sweat, it’s the way our bodies have been created to regulate body temperature and eliminate toxins.
What dangerous ingredients can conventional deodorant contain?
Not only do they contain aluminum compounds, but also parabens, silica which is a skin irritant, and talc, a carcinogen.
Parabens are used as a preservative, making the product last longer on the shelves. Parabens affect the body by playing a similar role to our estrogen hormones. This ultimately affects the body’s hormone balance. In throwing off the balance, consequences include cancers, birth defects, and early puberty.
Silica is your source of irritation and itchiness. Silica is often contaminated with crystalline quartz, which is known to cause respiratory diseases and cancerous developments.
Talc, or hydrous magnesium silicate, provides the chalk, white appearance of the deodorant. Talc can irritate the skin and is thought to contain carcinogens.
Artificial fragrance They may use natural-sounding names for the scent of the deodorant but the label will say “fragrance” which is artificial and dangerous
How do these chemicals work?
The chemicals in conventional deodorants are designed to ensure the ducts are pressed closed, to keep you from sweating. But by closing the ducts, the toxins are trapped inside of us. This is not good, we want them out – not trapped inside!
Studies have linked the neurotoxins found in conventional deodorants to breast cancer, bone formation disorders, seizures, and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. We cannot dismiss the harmful effects of the ingredients in conventional deodorant.
How does doTERRA’s natural deodorant work?
Natural deodorant allows your body to continue with its natural sweating process. You need to sweat – God made your body that way!
Does natural deodorant actually work?
Not all of them. I have tried a LOT of natural deodorants, all of which have failed me eventually. Ever since I made the change to dōTERRA’s deodorant, I have been so impressed! It’s my favorite by far and it continues to work well for me years later.
It’s time for you to make the switch to dōTERRA deodorant, but first, it’s important to know that it’s going to take time for the body to detox the layers of build-up from the prior use of conventional products. This shift is not only about changing your deodorant, it’s changing how you deodorize.
When making the switch – Detox your armpits!
When switching to a natural deodorant, you’ll want to make the doTERRA Spa Detoxifying Mud Mask your best friend! Many people experience a rash when they switch from convention to natural deodorant- this is a type of detox. The mud mask can help!
The dōTERRA Spa Detoxifying Mud Mask contains Myrrh, Juniper Berry, and Grapefruit essential oils which promote cleansing and healing benefits. The malachite extract is one of the best choices for detoxifying the skin, while shea butter provides hydration. The kaolin encompasses minerals which clarify the skin and aid in the reduction of oily skin.
This product serves a variety of purposes such as soothing swollen bug bites, serves as a first aid kit necessity, and is wonderful for detoxifying the armpits. Trust me, give it a try and you’ll understand!
To detox your armpits with the mud mask, apply it to the armpits and leave on for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. You can use this up to three times a week, especially when first switching from conventional to natural deodorant. A few uses should be all you need!
